The Sea

Helen has returned from her holidays with the community in Galway (the county, folks, not the city). This picture reminds us of a group of friends on holiday so we hope you like it. I am here to type Helen's reflection as she looks back....

We were by the sea. We went in Rosie with James driving. Me, Maria, Jillian, Thomas, Matthew, James, Hannah, Gosia and Joe. We went to the seaside and it was raining but Rosie was alright.

A nice walk on a mountain with Gosia, Mary Harrison, Matthew, Maria. I could see the sea. And then we went to the pub. I had Diet Coke.

Mary Harrison did art with us. I painted...

For New Year, we laid on the floor with duvets in a big room with candles and listened to prayer music. Then we sang.

We slept in the mornings and went out in the afternoons. I woke Maria up! We had chicken, ham and fish and chips and chocolate on holidays.

I rode in Maria's car both ways and so did Gosia and Jillian. We listened to music and sang and stopped for our lunch in a restaurant.

It was a nice holiday. I'd like to go back again at Easter!

Thank you to Helen for the detail-laden holiday report. When asked how hols were for them, Larry didn't respond, Jillian just shook her head and Thomas said: "Stayed up till 1 o'clock." I presumed that was on New Year's Eve, and asked Thomas if he made a resolution. He did. What was it? "Ummm. Can't remember." So, if you have not made a New Year's Resolution or if you don't remember yours, you are in good company!

Happy New Year 2008 to Friends Far and Near from all of us in L'Arche Belfast.
