Did You See That Week Go By?

As usually happens, time has begun to speed up to get us to Christmas. What an exciting week has passed! We said good-bye to our friend Gregor. He made mulled wine and juice and relaxed in the sitting room the evening he was leaving. Tell me if you have ever moved from one country to another and put your feet up all in the same evening.

While we were sitting around with our hot drinks and lebkuchen, the great news was announced: James and Fayth got engaged! By collating various texts, I have developed the idea that though James had intended to surprise Fayth by appearing in London for an evening rendesvous and offer his heart for her hand, excitement got the better of him. The first text came late afternoon. Lunch, cafe, YES. Or something like that. You might think we were having lebkuchen in their honour if your German is as polished as mine. But lebkuchen means something like flat cake. Nothing around these parts is flat just now. Love is in the air and so is Christmas.
