Happenings in February

Hello dear members of the L´Arche community, friends and family…

Let’s give you some information about the things that have been going on this month – FEBUARY

As usual, there have been a few events during the last weeks for example the Chinese New Year festival in Belfast’s market hall. We all welcomed the Chinese year of the rabbit by watching the entertaining programme and stands, dancing to the live music and watching May and her dance group’s performance! :) We also went out to see Neil and his band playing last night.

Last week Root Soup organised a “Friends and Fork night” in the Ark. Micah, Alison, Bryson and Matthew prepared a wonderful dinner for all of the numerous guests. And the good news is: there are going to be more events like this!

The work at the allotment gets busier as we plant more and more fruits and vegetables but we have a lot of support by Paul, David and Christian who come every Friday to help us. The first flowers already started to grow and we are looking forward to have some nice barbeques up the soon! :)

The core members are doing well.

Larry is happy as always watching TV and buying DVDs, Jillian got glasses which suit her very well – “lovely!” - , Thomas is looking forward to the marathon coming up in May, Matthew participated in a conference in Templepatrick called “Speak out about yourself” for people with learning disabilities, he said he learnt a lot of things there, and May just won a bowling competition in Derry!
